Strike Operating Procedure #4

Radio Room

 A.    Base Unit Operator arrives in time to check in with strike duty check in before your shift.
    1.
     
Be there on time or notify radio room if you are going to be late.
     2.
     
Check tie-in book and pass on information to appropriate authority.
    3.     
Record assignment information in assignment sheets to include name, time, and radio serial number.
    4.     
Use tie-in book to record significant events, information, and tie-in to next operator.
    5.     
When operator is going out of service, call 10-7 on radio and 10-8 when returning to service.
    6.     
Notify Joe Buffa, Art Knecht, or the Strike Captain of any serious problems reported on the radio or by phone.
    7.     
Contact the next operator to make sure they will be on time or absent. Notify Art Knecht or Joe Buffa if next operator will be late or no show.
    8.     
Radio team members will be on poster-sized schedule in radio room.


B.
    
Radio Operators Instructions
    1.     
Push down button to speak, lift up to listen.
    2.     
Pause for two seconds between hearing and speaking.
    3.     
Speak slowly and clearly on radio.
    4.     
Do not use any profanity, threats, or discriminating remarks on radio or in room.

C.     Radio Room Shifts
    1.     
6 AM to 2PM
    2.     
2PM to 10PM
    3.     
10PM to 6AM
