SOP #5
Strike Operating Procedure #5
Sign – In Desk
The picketer will enter the main meeting room and approach the
sign-in table that will be clearly marked and staffed by two(2) people.
The member will present a photo I.D. (Driver’s License, Boeing
badge…)
Check in person will find their name on the assignment sheet for
that shift and initial their name.
Check in person will tell the picketer where bus will depart
from and what gate to get off at.
Picketer will proceed to that bus. Buses will depart on time.
Committee Chairs will provide Check-in Desk with work schedule
for their committees. This list will be used to authorize stamping of
Committee Workers during the week. If a member requests a strike stamp
and claims to have worked their committee assignment, check-in desk will
verify the individual is on the assignment roster for that duty.
After current shift buses have left, one sign in person will get
the duty stamp and ink pad and prepare to meet the returning buses. As
picketers leave the bus, he/she will stamp their strike card or
temporary strike card. He/she will instruct the picketers to go to the
pay dispersal area to pick up their previous weeks check. After all
picketers have been stamped, he/she will go to pay dispersal to assist
in delivery of checks.
If a returning Striker (or committee worker) has forgotten their
Strike Card for proper stamping, their name, clock or badge number,
date, time, and type of duty performed will be entered into a special
log. The member will sign the log and the check-in person will co-sign.
This log will remain in control of the Check-in Desk and will be picked
up once a week by the District Secretary-Treasurer.
After current shift buses have left, the other sign in person
will go with the Strike Captain to the pay dispersal area. As picketers
arrive to get their checks, he/she will assist in the dispersal per
instructions from the Secretary-Treasurers office.
After all picketers have received their checks for that shift,
the sign in people and Strike Captain will pull the checks of all
picketers currently on the line. This list is derived from the sign in
sheets just completed. After all checks have been pre-sorted, Strike
Captains will secure the room and the check in people will return to
main hall to prepare for next shift sign in.
Shift assignments will be made available for each shift that
will include: picketers name, clock number, gate assignment, and place
to initial their attendance. This sheet will be left with the checks
after the current shift checks are pre-sorted. This sheet will be used
to determine strike pay eligibility and the Secretary-treasurer will
pick up the completed sheets during his next work day.
Two copies for the shift Check-in will be supplied for the week.
It will contain the name, badge number, date, time, and gate assignment
for those scheduled to work that shift. One copy will be initialed by
