Strike Operating Procedure #8
Parking Lot Duty
Personnel walking security in parking lots will report for their
assigned shift with the Strike Captain.
Parking lot duty will be 8 hours in duration one time per week.
Shift hours will be Midnight to 8 AM, 8 AM to 4 PM, and 4 PM to
Midnight.
Parking Security will wear an orange vest so he/she is easily
seen.
Parking security will carry a flashlight from just before dusk
until just after dawn.
Parking Security will ensure traffic flows from north to south
at all entrances.
Parking Security will ensure only our buses, security, or
emergency vehicles, use the east entrance.
Parking security will watch the lot to ensure cars are not being
vandalized or tampered with.
Parking security will not allow tow trucks on the premises
unless a member is standing there to escort such truck to their car for
repair or assistance.
Parking Security will direct news media to the entrance of the
District offices where they will be met by internal security for further
instructions.
Parking Security will monitor reserved handicap parking for
proper use.
Parking Security will assist picketers in finding open parking
during peak rush hours.
Parking Security will only allow the news media to use the west
entrance and allow them to park near the park unless specifically
authorized elsewhere by District Staff of Strike Captain.
