Strike Operating Procedure #9
Security/Comm Cars
Security/Communication Drivers will work one eight-hour shift
per week.
Security/Communication Drivers will be using their personal cars
to deliver water to the picket line.
Security/Communication Drivers will receive a flat fee for
gasoline used during their shift per District Secretary-Treasurer
instructions. The Security/Comm Chair will be responsible for ensuring
routes assigned have been driven in order to receive the gas allowance.
Security/Communication Drivers will enter the east entrance and
stop by the kitchen door.
Security/Communication Drivers will sign in for duty at the sign
in desk before their shift.
Security/Communication Drivers will secure one radio from the
previous shift and will pass this radio to their relief at the
completion of the shift.
A first aid kit will be picked up to put in your car. You can
use this kit for minor problems experienced by picketers on the line.
Security/Communication Drivers will prepare water for next shift
at completion of your shift.
Security/Communication Drivers will drive designated route
stopping at all 18 gates each four-hour period.
Security/Communication Drivers will pick up paycheck at
completion of their shift.
Security/Communication Drivers will pick up the sign-in sheets
located at St. Charles and the I-170 Gate during their round. This sheet
must be returned to the Sign-in desk in order for those picketers to get
their Strike Stamp.
