Strike Sanction Vote
Dear Boeing Brothers and Sisters,
Your Bargaining Committee is moving forward in the process for securing
you a good contract. Your solidarity in the shop is having an effect on
negotiations. Keep It
Up!
In order to help obtain a good contract, it is imperative that we have a
good turn out for the Strike Sanction Vote. The vote sends a message to
the Company that you want a fair and equitable contract and that the
membership supports its Bargaining Committee. This is a valuable tool in
the bargaining process. Do not send your Bargaining Committee into
battle with this company without arming them with a strong Strike
Sanction Vote.
We have already told the Company that the membership is not interested
in the Company’s proposals on retention, requiring forty hours of work
before overtime is paid and many others. But if the Company is to take
us serious you must send a message by attending Sunday’s vote.
The Strike Sanction Vote is set for Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the St.
Charles Family Arena. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. and the meeting will
begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. It is important to note that ONLY
active members in good standing employed at Boeing will be allowed in
the meeting room. No guests or children will be allowed in. PHOTO
ID REQUIRED.
The IAM International Constitution requires this vote in order for our
members to receive strike benefits in the event the final contract offer
is rejected. Remember, this vote is very important, however, it will NOT
put you on the street. You will be voting on the final contract offer on
Sunday, June 13, 2010 also at the St. Charles Family Arena.
Fraternally yours,
Gordon King
President Directing
Business Representative
