This page will provide links for the membership to remain informed and engaged in the GKN Negotiating Process.
It is the District's intent to keep the process as open and transparent as possible. Please keep in mind that this site is accessible to the general public. Since the GKN management team will be watching this site as much as you are, we will not be able to put everything in here as it may compromise proposals or issues that we are reviewing or developing. Sensitive information will only be given in face-to-face meetings between you and your elected representatives during lodge or special meetings or during the walk-a-rounds we will be scheduling as time permits in the shop.
Please remember to talk with your Stewards often. They will have the latest information for you. As time gets closer to the final vote, we anticipate management will be trying to spin the proposals on the table in their favor. Remember, they are agents of the Company and will be required to talk the company line. That line may not be in your best interest. Listen to what they have to say respectfully, then get with your Steward or Plant Chairman to make sure you have all the facts.
We believe and educated and informed member is in the best interest of the entire bargaining unit.
